Invitations: Lauren and Derrick

I feel like I'm always busy. Even when I don't have print deadlines in front of me, I still have an office stacked to the ceiling with fabric that's supposed to be made into something. This is my explanation for why it has taken me so long to post about these wedding invitations I finished a couple of months ago for Lauren and Derrick!



Lauren is inspired by vintage Hollywood glam, Marilyn Monroe, glitz and glitter and everything in that category. She let me know that she wanted to include some sort of black and white damask and the color red. After a couple of proofs, I realized that all black and white was going to be a little bit too busy, so we toned down lots of the pieces to grey and red. For this style, she wanted it to be opulent - more is more - so there were a few design motifs that made appearances on each piece: scallops, damask, and chandelier details.




Lauren had a great idea for her response cards that I totally supported: Mad Lib style! The postcards had mailing information on the front, and the back was a fill-in-the-blank paragraph for the guests to respond to the event with creativity!



As for accessories, Lauren also ordered programs, place cards, and thank you cards in the same style - and as always, printing them together kept the cost of adding things on low!





Lauren and Derrick are getting married at the King Plow Event Gallery, and I know the rest of the wedding is going to be just as glamorous as her stationery!
